went to MINT toy museum today. (:
all the toys made me feel "woah".
the robots, dolls, collections.
and each toy can cost up to US$100,000.
sheeesh..
i really admire the owner of the museum. hehe.
they kept all the toys which cant possibly be found
in the market anymore. we had lots of fun there.
especially it was the first class outing we had. (:
the interior of the museum was also interesting.
not to forget, the speacial lightings they have.
the lightings are made specially to prevent the
colours on the toys from fading.
and the shelves were designed in a way that not even a shadow
is cast on the background.
coooolness.
we even got the chance to see different
versions of batman's car. haha.
and the beetles collections
of mugs etc.

the term is coming to an end.
and although we are done with our major projects
for the term, we have a mini event coming up
which is the DID fest.
everyone have to draw/colour/paint the balls
on the chandelier. it looked beautiful after everyone
have did their own ones.
and all 5 classes hung our ping pong balls which we
have neatly place in transparent boxes.
and lastly we set up our mini exhibition booth with our
partners. mine was Huda. yeah mann! (:
cant wait for wednesday. we're going to MINT toy museum.

finally! final submission. such a hectic week and sleepless nights
for almost everyone. busy trying to complete our
projects on time. and the russian dolls are completed.
together with the box which we have to keep our
stuffs in.
i have to admit, the process of making the russian dolls
was nonetheless tedious. what i did for mine was a book, a car,
a camera and an hourglass.
the book which is made of ice cream sticks reflects about me
being calm and at ease as i love to read
when im not doing anything or i wish to keep myself
busy with nothing else but a story.
then the car. it was made out of newspaper and starch.
i learnt something new! how to make starch. (:
and then comes the one which i love the most,
my mini camera. it took me 4 hours to
do the camera. alot of patience was needed.
used different types of materials like sponge paper
and coloured paper to make the camera.
and the outcome turns out nice.
but i still think there's room for improvement. (:
lastly is the hourglass which i dont really like the
outcome. could have done better for that.
and with the final submission,
finally everyone can have a nice short break.
except that, it would have to be after we cleared our
critique session.

okay. so today's ICE is....
drawing without looking at what we're drawing.
sounds easy but its way more difficult than what you think.
we are supposed to cover our drawing paper with another
sheet of paper and draw. just draw.
draw our own hands and feets.
mine turned out to look weird. haha.
some of theirs look distorted.
same as mine. =p
later part of the afternoon was spent touring the workshop.
its different from the normal secondary school workshop though.
its air-conditioned! (:
and after the fun touring, it was back to
the boring russian dolls. tsk.
we are supposed to bring the ping pong balls project
a step ahead.
to create russian dolls of 4 out of it.
and then comes the planning...

yippee. we had a lecture on TOYS today!
yess!
TOYSS. it was rather interesting
to me although im already 17. haha.
the lecture has pictures and history of
different types of toys from different era.
there were soft toys, dolls, toys for boys,
toys for girls.
whats bonus were the facts about these toys
that we rarely bother to search on.
it was pretty interesting i should say.
somehow it made me think of the toys in the present
days and compared it to those of my grandparents' time.
very much difference and toys nowadays are just practically
operated by batteries.
and nowadays, toys for the kids are gadgets like PSP,
MP3, PlayStation and Handphones. that's scaryy.
even a 10 yr old kid owns a HP. hmmm.
